Frequently asked questions
Will I be charged extra for gas?
One full tank of fuel is included in your rental.
What happens if I fall off the Sea-doo?
If you fall off, the emergency cut off switch will be automatically triggered and stop the Sea-doo. Your life jacket will keep you afloat while you get back on from the rear of the jet ski.
I’ve never been on a Seadoo before. Can I still join the tour?
Yes! No experience is required. All you need to drive is a valid driver’s license and be 16 years or older. One of our staff will go over the controls and proper operation of the Seadoo. The first few minutes are within a no wake zone (5 mph speed limit) where you will get the feel of it before you accelerate out in the open water. Your guide will continue to give you tips throughout the tour.
Do I need to know how to swim?
You don’t need to know how to swim to ride a Sea-doo. If you fall in, your lifejacket will keep you afloat while you get back on the Sea-doo. You do need to feel comfortable in and around the water with the lifejacket on so that if you do fall off you are able to confidently get back to the Sea-doo.
Why are only single-rider Seadoos allowed on this tour?
Seven hours is a long time to be riding on the back of a Seadoo. For maximum comfort and enjoyment, we’ve made this tour single-rider only.
Will I get wet?
It’s very unlikely that you will get wet, but being out on the water, there is always the chance! We have small lockers for rent at our office for personal valuables or you can bring a backpack and store it under your seat on the Zodiac.
Do you provide gear to keep us dry?
We have full-length wetsuits that are optional and complimentary for all our guests. They won’t keep you dry but they will keep you warm when wet as well as protect you from the sun. We also have change rooms that you can use.
What if it is raining?
We run rentals rain or shine, unless the conditions are dangerous. Vancouver is known for its sunny skies from June through September and you can grab a complimentary wetsuit at any time of year.
Do I wear shoes on the Sea-doo and do I need water shoes?
You can leave your shoes right on the dock, but you’re also welcome to leave them in a cubby inside the office. Water shoes are not needed but can help keep your feet warm.
Is there storage on my Sea-doo?
The Base & Sport models have space for your phone, wallet, keys, a small bag but not a backpack. The Luxury Model can easily accommodate a picnic and supplies for the day
Where can I store my things?
We have cubbies in our office as well as small paid lockers for valuables such as wallets, passports and phones.
Do I need to wear a bathing suit?
Our guests often choose to wear a bathing suit and wetsuit combination, as denim & jeans are prohibited on the Seadoos. Otherwise, you’re welcome to wear anything you feel comfortable in.
Can I bring my phone or camera on the Sea-doo?
It’s up to you. We offer complimentary pelican or waterproof cases that fit most phones. We also have waterproof cases for purchase. We recommend keeping phones in the storage compartment at the front of the Sea-doo while you are moving.
Are you located on the water?
The office is a 20 second walk from the dock!
What is the difference between your Sea-doos?
We offer 3 models for those renting a seadoo in Vancouver:
- Our Base Model - GTX 130 Pro
- Our Sport Model - GTI se 170
- Our Luxury Model - Fishpro Trophy 170
See the table above for a full comparison of the features and benefits!
What's the difference between a Sea-doo and Jet Ski?
Jet Ski, Waverunner and Sea-doo are brand names of personal water crafts. They’re all personal watercraft powered by a jet of water vs a traditional propeller.
How old do you have to be to rent a Sea-doo?
For riders 16- 18 years of age, you must provide your valid driver’s license to operate our Sea-doos. If you’re 19 years of age or older, any valid government issued photo ID must be provided to operate any of our Sea-doos.
When do I need to arrive for my Sea Doo Rental?
Please arrive 1 hour prior to your departure.
I don’t have a credit card. Is there another way to hold the damage deposit?
Credit card holds are preferred, however we can do a debit withdrawal** (refunded when you return without damage) or cash (returned when you return without damage)
Is there parking available?
Paid parking is available throughout Granville Island near our office. There’s lots of space but on the weekends it can fill up, so plan to arrive a little early. Want to skip the hassle? You can easily catch a 10-15 min Uber or taxi from any hotel downtown!
Here are our suggestions for paid parking on Granville Island:
What is the deductible and how is it charged?
Base Model: A $12 collision coverage and $1000 credit card hold
Sport Model: A $12 collision coverage and $2000 credit card hold
Luxury Model: A $12 collision coverage and $3500 credit card hold
The credit card hold works similar to renting a car and we release the funds as soon as the equipment is returned without damage, in good working condition. Please note that your Credit Card must be brought in and physically present in order to process the hold.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you acquired the Trip Protection for your booking during checkout, you can cancel up to 1 hour before departure time for a full refund. Otherwise, the following policy applies:
i) 100% refund for bookings cancelled more than 7 days before your booking time.
ii) 50% refund for bookings cancelled between 3 and 7 days before your booking time.
iii) Bookings cancelled less than 3 days before your booking time have no refund.
What if I need to cancel for a large group?
For groups larger than 6 we require 7 days notice for a full cancellation without Trip Protection
Do I have to make a reservation in advance?
Advanced reservations are required. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance.
How old do I have to be to sign a waiver?
You must be 19 years of age or older to sign your waiver. Anyone under 19 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver for them.
Should I tip my tour guide?
If you feel your tour captain has provided a great experience, gratuities are encouraged— and welcomed—at the end of your tour. We believe that recognizing excellent service is a personal matter, though 15-20% of your ticket price is a good rule of thumb.
Do I need to wear a life jacket?
YES! We have comfortable, slim-design inflatable life jackets for all of our guests to wear.
What if I still have questions?
We’re here to help! Simply call us at (604) 736-5155 if you have any additional questions or concerns.
