Important...
While we do accept walk-up participants, our tours and rentals regularly sell out. To get your preferred choice and to avoid missing out, we highly recommend booking as soon as possible.Bowen Island Dinner & Sights - Tour Overview
Your tour includes your dinner and one drink. Begin at Granville Island on the Vancouver waterfront, where you’ll be fitted with a survival suit that slips right over your dinner attire and will keep you warm on the water crossing to Bowen Island. Place your order before departing, so dinner will be ready upon arrival at the restaurant.
Board a 30-foot (9-meter), rigid hull zodiac boat that seats up to 12 people, and learn about Granville Island’s history as you navigate out of False Creek. Hear stories about the Burrard Street Bridge, Bard on the Beach, and the Eugenia Building as you follow the shoreline, then pick up speed when you reach open water. Hit 31mph (50kph) while passing Stanley Park, then pause at Siwash Rock to snap photos of the Vancouver landmark. Follow the shoreline towards Point Atkinson, then disembark at Bowen Island—you’ll have one hour to dine and stroll around Bowen Island’s shops.
Return to the boat for a second sightseeing cruise: see Vancouver’s seal colony from the water, then visit the Spanish Banks to see the shipping freighters up close (time permitting). Continue along the south shore of English Bay to Jericho and Kits Beach, and steer back towards the shoreline of Granville Island, where this tour concludes.
Small Groups & Fast Boats
In contrast to crowded cruises and other boat tours in Vancouver, our Zodiacs are fast, nimble and limited to 12 guests. Bottom line? A more intimate experience with everything from waterfalls to wildlife.
See What Most Are Missing
While the majority of visitors stay on the pavement and pathways, you’ll get to experience the picturesque waterfalls, glacial fjords and stunning vistas completely inaccessible by car.
Memorable Wildlife Encounters
Our small, comfortable Zodiacs give you the chance to get up close and personal with starfish, seals, sea lions, jellyfish, bald eagles, and even occasionally our local black bears and dolphins.
Award-Winning Guides
Beyond the jaw-dropping scenery, your experienced and friendly captain will share stories, local history, geological features, and answer any questions you have throughout the tour.
For Visitors & Locals Alike
Whether you’re here for the first time, hosting visitors, or looking for a family-friendly adventure, our Zodiac tours are fun, exhilarating, and offer unforgettable views of our beautiful backyard

Frequently asked questions
Can I change into dinner attire at the restaurant?
You are welcome to do this if you choose, however most guests and guides wear their survival suits into the restaurant as changing takes up the time they would have for eating dinner, and the tour schedules only about 45 minutes for dining at the restaurant.
Will I get wet?
It’s very unlikely that you will get wet, but being out on the water, there is always the chance! We have small lockers for rent at our office for personal valuables or you can bring a backpack and store it under your seat on the Zodiac.
Do you provide gear to keep us dry?
We have cozy, waterproof, full-length cruiser suits that are optional for all our guests. Not sure if you’ll need it? No worries, ask the captain to bring a suit for you “just in case”.
Are the Zodiacs comfortable?
Our Zodiacs are VERY comfy with cushioned bench seats and excellent back support. We can fit up to 12 guests and seating is typically 3 across in each row.
What if it is raining?
We run tours rain or shine, unless the conditions are dangerous. Vancouver is known for its sunny skies from June through September, and you can grab a complimentary all-weather suit any time of year.
Will it be wavy or rough on the water?
We offer smooth rides for all of our tours. Our Zodiacs are extremely safe and stable vessels and most of the tour takes place in protected harbours and waterways.
Is there parking available?
Paid parking is available throughout Granville Island near our office. There’s lots of space but on the weekends it can fill up, so plan to arrive a little early. Want to skip the hassle? You can easily catch a 10-15 min Uber or taxi from any hotel downtown!
Here are our suggestions for paid parking on Granville Island:
When do I need to arrive for my Boat Tour?
Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your departure.
Are bathrooms available?
There are no bathrooms on the boat! That being said, there is a bathroom available at our office you can use before and after the tour, as well as bathrooms available at Bowen Island you can use when you make your stop.
Do I need to wear a life jacket?
YES! We have comfortable, slim-design inflatable life jackets for all of our guests to wear.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you acquired the Trip Protection for your booking during checkout, you can cancel up to 1 hour before departure time for a full refund. Otherwise, the following policy applies:
i) 100% refund for bookings cancelled more than 7 days before your booking time.
ii) 50% refund for bookings cancelled between 3 and 7 days before your booking time.
iii) Bookings cancelled less than 3 days before your booking time have no refund.
What if I need to cancel for a large group?
For groups larger than 6 we require 7 days notice for a full cancellation without Trip Protection
Can I bring a camera?
We have many guests who choose to bring their cameras with them. We recommend that you keep your camera in a backpack under your seat while moving and take it out when we are stopped at various sites along the way.
How old do I have to be to sign a waiver?
You must be 19 years of age or older to sign your waiver. Anyone under 19 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver for them.
I’m mobility impaired, can I still go?
We don’t recommend this tour for those with neck or back injuries. If you’d like to discuss your situation further, please feel free to call us at (604) 736-5155
Should I tip my tour guide?
If you feel your tour captain has provided a great experience, gratuities are encouraged— and welcomed—at the end of your tour. We believe that recognizing excellent service is a personal matter, though 15-20% of your ticket price is a good rule of thumb.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Advanced purchase is strongly recommended, as tours often sell out. To maximize your chances of getting the day and time you prefer, please book well in advance.
What if I still have questions?
We’re here to help! Simply call us at (604) 736-5155 if you have any additional questions or concerns.
